My Work
I am the Principal of social health consultancy Social Meridian.
I am a sociologist of diagnosis and health. I focus on diseases of unknown cause and the demographics they affect, as well as brain injury, relationships, and the effects of stigma.
As a Health Policy Research Scholar of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, I am trained to use my expertise to analyze and influence policy.

Interviews with people with brain injury and their partners, identifying factors that improve relationship quality, and how brain injury stigma affects and is addressed by couples.
Social Construction of Unknown Illnesses

Mixed qualitative and quantitative content and discourse analysis of NIH and CDC descriptions of diagnoses, and the demographics they affect.
The Rise and Fall of the Hysteria Diagnosis
